My name is Hannah Burns and I am a first second year fourth grade literacy teacher in South Arkansas. I graduated from Southern Arkansas University with my degree in Early Childhood Education in May 2013. I have a passion for teaching and teaching creatively. I am so blessed to have a job that I love and look forward to each day.
I come from a family of teachers. Both of my parents have taught for over twenty years. After many years of babysitting, tutoring, volunteering at church, working as a preschool teacher during the summer, and spending my days off from school in my Mom's classroom, I decided to follow in their footsteps.
While in college, I met my know-it-all wonderful, goofball of a husband, Josh and we tied the knot July 2012 :) He is my best friend, other half, perfect guy. No one gets me like he does. I am so thankful for his help with all things computers, technology, movies, and sweet tea making. I like to think that he makes me smarter and I make him....crazier ;) We live next door to my wonderful in-laws with our cockier spaniel puppy, Lewis.
Reading, writing, and literature are my favorite subjects to take and to teach. I love discussions, literature circles, chasing rabbits, reader's theater, working in small groups, and making things "cute". I am known to take way too long getting ready, own too many not enough shoes, and spend way too much time and money in Target (my favorite store/place/thing in life). I love British TV shows (Downton Abbey, yes please), being embarrassingly lazy, all sweet/desserts, and of course, shopping (my favorite sport).
Thanks for stopping by Cute in the Classroom! I love comments, questions, emails, and of course, followers! Let me know if I can help :)
Welcome to blogging Hannah! I think all teachers LOVE Target and the Dollar Spot.
ReplyDeleteReading is such a fun thing to teach...especially to the little ones. It is amazing the growth they make.
Be sure and add a follow button when you get the chance...the one with the profile faces/pictures. Here is how you can do that:
1. Go to design at the top of your blog and then layout.
2. Choose add a gadget and then more gadgets.
3. The follow button is the last one on the page #25
I'll stop by again to follow you. I would love for you to hop over and visit me when you get the chance. =)
